Disproving the Iglesia ni Cristo

by G. Enad Tanudtanud

We should therefore go over the passages that reveal CHRIST as GOD. Our task is to prove Christ is God, not the way the INC people are proving that Christ is only a man, because this way you can never prove that Christ is not God.

St. Thomas in St. John 20:28 exclaimed to Christ Himself : “My Lord and My God”

It Christ was not truly God, could He ever allow St. Thomas to say so? Christ was the symbol of Truth Himself, He could not allow such falsehood spoken on His own very person. Therefore, He could have reprimanded ST. Thomas promptly this way : “Hey Thomas, you are blaspheming God. Why are you calling me God? Who told you I am God? I am no God at all. I am just like you a man but simply sent by God to preach to you His kingdom.”

Here comes St. John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.”

And in verse 14 “ And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.”

St John spoke in direct and plain language the Word was God. If the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, then this means God was made flesh and dwelt among us. Who was made flesh and dwelt among us via the womb of a woman coming from the power of God Almighty? CHRIST. Therefore, Christ was God, the way St John wants us to understand. The Word that was God is Christ. Did the INC people find a phrase in the bible that the Word was not God? None at all. They have proven Christ as a man, but not as only a man, for we have passages that reveal Christ was also God.

Let us go to Christ in His utterances themselves, implying that He was truly God.

In St.Matthew 12:8, we read Christ Himself state: “ For the Son of man is even the Lord of the Sabbath.”

This son of man is Christ. Can an ordinary man be the Lord of the Sabbath? There is no other than God Almighty as the Lord of the Sabbath. How can Christ say He is the Lord of the Sabbath if He is not God Himself?

In St. John 18:30, again Christ reveals: “I and the Father are one.” If Christ can say so, then we cnnot help believing He is God Himself, because His Father is God to us. There can not be two Gods in heaven. Therefore, when He said He and the Father were one, that means there was one entity in Heaven and that entity is God Himself, composed of two persons now, Christ and the Father, not mentioning the third person the Holy Ghost.

Thus in St. John 8:58, He clearly declares : “Amen, amen, I say to you before Abraham was made, I AM.” Unless Christ is God, how can Christ say so? Who is this “I AM”? He is no other than God Almighty Himself. We read this in Exodus 3:14 where God Almighty reveals His name to Moses: “ I AM WHO AM.” If the people asked Moses who had sent him, Moses had to answer on God Almighty as “ HE WHO IS.”

Now read St. John 18:36 “My kingdom is not of this world….” What does this mean? Christ has a kingdom, therefore, He is King. But His kingdom is not found in this world, but understood to be in heaven. But there cannot be two kingdoms in heaven, the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Christ. There should be one kingdom in heaven which is no other than the kingdom of God. Since Christ suggest that he has a kingdom, therefore His kingdom is no other than that of the Son and of the Father in one entity, God Almighty.

The most revealing of Christ as God Himself are His revelations themselves about His true identity in the Revelations. Revelations comes from the word “to reveal”, meaning, to tell the truth. Therefore, in the Revelations, Christ’s true identity as God is revealed. And these is no other one who has the authority to tell it to us among the Apostles than St.John the Apostle, because it was to him that all things that are to come, including the truth of Christ, had been revealed.

Here are all the revelations given to St. John by God not only by word of mouth but also by means of vision.

Here is Christ revealing to us His real identity through St John in Revelations 1:18

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the First and the Last, said the Lord God, who was, who is, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Who is this Lord God, whom St.John had listened to, who was Almighty in the ancient time, Almighty during His time, Almighty in time to come? He is Christ Himself. Read Revelations 1:13-16, you will find “ in the midst of the seven candlesticks none other like to the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girt about the paps a golden girdle.”

Continue reading verse 17, you hear St John speak thus, “And when I had seen Him ( the one like the Son of man), I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying : “Fear not, I am the First and the Last…”

There you are. These very words of Jesus Christ were uttered by God Almighty in Asaias 41:4 : “I, the Lord, I am the First and the Last.” Again in Isaias 44:6, God Almighty speaks : “ I am the First and I am the Last. Besides me, there is no God.”

If there are no God besides Him, then Christ who says I am the First and the Last is God Almighty Himself. Christ cannot afford to lie!

Now in Revelations 4:2-5 we read St John could not exactly describe the one sitting at the throne, but the way he described him, we understand the one sitting is God Almighty in His strange figure and in all His power.

“He was to the sight like the jasper and sardine stone. And there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.”

“And from the throne proceeds lightnings and voices and thunders.”

Continue in St.John in verse 6: “And in the sight of the throne was, as it were, a sea of glass like to crystal and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne were four living creatures, full of eyes and behind.”

What are these creatures saying day and night without rest? In the next verse, they cry :” Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come”, the very words uttered by Christ in Revelations 1:8!

Should the INC people tell us that Christ was merely joking when He said : “ I am the First and the Last.” These people simply reason that St. Thomas was merely exclaiming! Yet, to belie Christ as God, the INC people simply have to keep on citing those words of Christ referring to His being a man. BUT THEY NEVER DISPROVED CHRIST WORDS referring to His Being God. In the Bible we always read such phrases on Christ as “God”, but never those on Christ as “not God”, such phrase to be actually read by us. What more should we say to the INC people about His Godness? Let them read the following verses to make them realize that they have been blinded by an Unseen Force operating behind them denying Christ as God or even just Son of God, permanently insisting Christ was only a man.

High Time to Believe for the INC people

Let them ponder on the following passages:

1. St Matthew 4:3-10
“And the tempter coming said to him: if thou be the Son of God, command these stones to be made bread.
“Who answered and said: It is written: Not by bread alone doth man live but in every word that proceeded from the mouth of God.
“Then the devil took him up into the holy city (Jerusalem) and set him upon the pennacle of the temple.
“And said to him: If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down, for it is writtten : That he hath given his angels charge over thee, and in their hand shall they bear thee up, lest perhaps thou dash thy foot against a stone.
“Jesus said to him: it is written again: Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
“Again the devil took him up into a very high mountain and shewd him all the kingdom of the world and glory of them.
“And said to him: All these I give thee, if falling down thou wilt adore me.
“Then Jesus said to him : Begone Satan! For it is written: The Lord thy God shalt thou and Him only shalt thou serve.”

Does the devil believe Christ as the Son of God? Nay. Therefore, the more he never believes Christ is God Himself. TO THE DEVIL, CHRIST WAS ONLY A MAN which the INC people preach. Yet the way Christ answered, He Himself was God whom Satan must serve.

2. Then the INC people must think on the following, St John 19:6-7
“When the chief priests, therefore, and the servants had seen him, they cried out, saying : Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith to them: Take him you, and crucify him: for I find no cause in him. “the Jews answered him : We have a law, and according to the law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.”

INC people, understand. The Jews never believe Christ was Son of God, Christ was merely a man to them. The more that they would get angry if it was made clear to them that Christ in his preachings was God Himself. The INC people must realize that their stand belongs to the Devil himself and was one of the reasons why the Jews crucified Christ!

3. We have to invite now the INC people to read the very significant I St John 4:1-3
“Dearly beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits if they be of God; because many false prophets are gone out into this world.
“By this is the spirit of God known. Every spirit which confesseth that Jesus is come in the flesh is of God;
“And every spirit that dissolved Jesus is not of God. And this is the Anti-christ, of whom you have heard that he cometh: and he is now already in this world.”

In I St John 2:22, St John had already told us: “ Who is a liar, but he who denieth that Jesus is the Christ (Son of God)? This is the anti-Christ who denieth the Father and the Son.”

What does this mean? As made clear in I St John 4:1-3, those who “dissolve” Christ (meaning those who do not believe Christ as Son of God who comes to us via the womb of a woman) are anti-christs.

Who is this St.John speaking in the above passages? He is no other than St.John the Apostle himself in St John 1:1 and 14 speaking by symbolism the Word (Christ) was God, who came to the world in the flesh, meaning via the womb of a woman (Virgin Mary). He is the very St. John to whom Christ revealed His true identity as God in Revelations. Should we not believe St. John in his utterances on Christ as God? Not believing him is not believing our Lord Jesus Christ as God. To deny Christ as such means that the spirit working within your brain is the devil himself. Let therefore the INC people realize now that by their stand against Christ as God, they have been simply blinded by Christ’s Arch-Rival and enemy Satan, whose loan goal in his devilish operations is to prevail against Christ by endless seductions on Christ’s faithful followers who constitute His True the Roman Catholic Church. INC people, beware of your teachings that Christ is only a man, because it is of the Devil.
